From Tons of Rock to Karpe World: Festival Summer 2026

For the very first time as festival workers, the whole Masterpiece Tattoo crew headed to Tons of Rock to tattoo!

Over 120 people tattooed in four days is pretty damn good, and we did everything from cute little cats going fishing to hardcore Bring Me the Horizon pieces. The most popular design of the year, by far, was the little Bring Me the Horizon umbrella with raindrops on the inside, tattooed a whopping 23 times. Out of all the festival designs we packed, we honestly didn't expect this one to sell so well, but it did!

We had a blast. We worked in shifts, caught concerts, drank beer and sweated buckets in the hot tent. Best purchase of the year was the ice machine, which kept going strong throughout the entire festival. If we get the chance again next year, we're definitely bringing extra fans.

The following Thursday it was time for Karpe World and three more days of intense work. Together with Karpe's designers, we created two flash sheets, and we pimped out the freshest booth around, fittingly named Mike me tattoo.

We did everything from crumpled 50-kroner notes to inflatable carp heads, but the design we tattooed most by far was the quote from the song «Her», Puster vi fortsatt? (Are we still breathing?). In total, 18 people walked away with that tattoo on arms, chests and legs. Despite some pretty heavy rain at times, there was a queue from opening until the Karpe show in the evening, and we have to tip our hats to Karpe, the volunteers and the crew who pulled off the pop-up festival so brilliantly.

All in all, we're super happy with this year's festival run. We hope to keep tattooing happy festival goers in the years to come.
