Before getting your tattoo
It's important to make sure that you are well-rested and hydrated before getting a tattoo. Avoid alcohol and drugs, as they can thin your blood and make it more difficult for the tattoo artist to work. It's also a good idea to wear loose, comfortable clothing that allows easy access to the area being tattooed.
When choosing a design, it's important to consider the size, placement, and style of the tattoo. It's also a good idea to choose a design that has personal significance to you. As for the artist, it's important to look at their portfolio and read reviews from other clients. It's also recommended to consult with the artist, discuss the design ideas and make sure the artist understand your expectation before commit to tattoo.
It is generally not recommended to get a tattoo while pregnant or breastfeeding. This is because the immune system is weakened during pregnancy and breastfeeding, which can increase the risk of infection. It's best to wait until after you've given birth and finished breastfeeding before getting a tattoo.

Aftercare
After getting a tattoo, it's important to keep the area clean and moisturized. You'll be provided with detailed aftercare instructions. Be sure to follow the instructions carefully, including keeping the area covered with a sterile bandage for the first couple of hours and avoiding swimming, soaking, and sun exposure for at least 2-4 weeks.
If you experience any complications or suspect that your tattoo has become infected, contact us immediately. We take hygiene seriously, and will provide you with the appropriate care and advice to help you heal and keep your tattoo looking its best.
It's important to use a fragrance-free, alcohol-free and non-petroleum based lotion or cream that is recommended by the artist. A general rule of thumb is to wait at least 3-5 days before applying any lotion/cream to the tattoo. Apply a thin layer of lotion/cream as needed to keep the tattoo moisturized and avoid over moisturizing which can trap bacteria and cause infection.
Direct sunlight should be avoided for at least 2-4 weeks after getting a tattoo. UV rays can damage the tattoo ink, cause it to fade and make the tattoo more prone to infection. After that, the tattoo should be protected from direct sunlight with a sunscreen with at least an SPF 30 rating.
The healing process varies depending on the size, location and technique of the tattoo. A small, simple tattoo can heal in as little as 1 week, while a larger, more detailed tattoo can take up to 4-6 weeks to fully heal.
After getting a tattoo, it's important to avoid soaking the tattoo for the first 2-4 weeks. This includes swimming, taking long baths or showers. You can take a shower but it's important to make sure the tattoo doesn't get too wet and pat it dry gently with a clean towel.
It's best to avoid wearing makeup over a new tattoo. If you must wear makeup, make sure it's non-toxic and doesn't contain any oils or harsh chemicals that can irritate the tattoo. Wait at least 2-3 days before applying makeup over the tattoo.
You should moisturize your tattoo as often as needed to keep the tattoo hydrated and supple. It's recommended to moisturize your tattoo 2-3 times a day with a fragrance-free, non-toxic and non-petroleum based lotion or cream.
