Deal with the Devil – A Halloween tradition at Masterpiece

Once again, Masterpiece pulled off our Deal with the Devil event! This time, all proceeds went to a good cause, the Kirkens nødhjelps campaign “Bring Joy to Those Dreading Christmas.”

For those unfamiliar with the concept: Deal with the Devil is our Halloween event where you can get a free tattoo, but only if you dare to take whatever design you draw from our legendary Deal with the Devil bucket. This year, the bucket contained over 250 unique designs, ranging from beautiful flowers and cute frogs to Baris Brevik and much more!

If you didn’t want the design you drew, you could instead choose freely from all the flash designs and pay just 600 kroner for the one you wanted. All of this amount went entirely to Kirkens Nødhjelp.

The turnout this year was incredible! By 4:00 AM, the first people were already in line, and by 7:00 AM, a crowd had gathered outside. Before we opened, we served Halloween waffles and hot chocolate, and the atmosphere was amazing from the very start.

We had improved the queue system from last year, which made the day much smoother. In total, we tattooed 78 people, not quite last year’s 99, but we are extremely pleased with both the turnout and the amount donated.

The day was full of laughter, great conversations, and wonderful people. Some went for whatever design they drew without hesitation, while others chose their own. A couple didn’t even look at the design before it was tattooed on their body!

Despite the cold and rainy weather, the atmosphere was impeccable. We wrapped up the day with an epic afterparty at Himmel, together with tattoo artists, regular clients, and good friends. The venue was decorated for Halloween, the music set the perfect mood, and people showed up in seriously impressive costumes. What a night!

We want to thank everyone who showed up and helped make the day amazing. We’re already looking forward to next year, perhaps with an entirely new twist on Deal with the Devil! 👹🖤
