Meet Karoline – from book illustration to tattoo art

Karoline Oddene is Masterpiece Tattoo's hand-picked apprentice — selected as the sole candidate after careful consideration. She brings an unusual background for a tattoo artist: as an illustrator, she has worked with Cappelen Damm and published her own comic series used in the history curriculum for middle and high schools across Norway.

It is precisely this background that makes Karoline an exciting addition to Masterpiece. The ability to tell stories visually — to distill complex ideas into clear, expressive images — translates directly into the art of tattooing. She has a sharp eye for composition, line work, and detail.

The tattoo styles Karoline specialises in are fine line, blackwork, and micro realism, both with and without colour. Karoline is continuously developing her repertoire under the guidance of the Masterpiece team, and her illustration background gives her a unique approach to custom design — especially for clients looking for narrative motifs with character and depth.
