Meet Karoline – from book illustration to tattoo art

Karoline Oddene is Masterpiece Tattoo's hand-picked apprentice — selected as the sole candidate after careful consideration. She brings an unusual background for a tattoo artist: as an illustrator, she has worked for Cappelen Damm (one of Norway's largest publishers) and created her own graphic novel used in history curricula for secondary schools across Norway.

It's precisely this background that makes Karoline such an exciting addition to Masterpiece. The ability to tell visual stories — distilling complex ideas into clear, expressive images — translates directly into tattoo art. She has a sharp eye for composition, line work and detail.

Karoline specialises in fine line and blackwork, and is steadily expanding her repertoire under the guidance of the Masterpiece team. Her illustration background gives her a unique approach to custom design — particularly for clients who want narrative motifs with character and depth.
